Veneered Panels & Surfaces

Panels Made Simple

How Panels are Built

We start with a 4 × 8 ft core (32 sq ft). Each panel requires two veneer layers—either a decorative face on both sides or a decorative face with a balance veneer on the back. Balance veneers (often natural maple or paper‑backed red oak) prevent warping by equalizing stress across the panel.

Choosing the Right Option

  • Paper‑backed veneer → Most economical; best for simple panels and large runs where budget is important.

  • Raw veneer → Allows greater species variety and figure; ideal when character and uniqueness matter.

  • Shop‑sawn veneer → Provides a thick wear layer and full control over grain sequencing; reserved for premium furniture or panels that need to stand out.

If you’re unsure which approach fits your project, we’ll guide you based on your budget, use and aesthetic goals. We can also accommodate client‑supplied lumber or reclaimed wood for shop‑sawn panels.

Prices include the core, veneer, labor and miscellaneous materials. Even when only one face will be visible, a balancing veneer is required on the back to ensure stability.
